JW Marriott Washington, DC Celebrates 25 Years with Completion of $40 Million Renovation

The JW Marriott Hotel Washington, DC, celebrating 25 years, recently completed the last phase of $40 million renovation to all 772 guest rooms, suites, meeting space, and atrium lobby.  The high-tech, high-style renovation offers the latest innovations and a fresh new design has an understated luxury and elegance.  Situated on Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., the 15-story luxury hotel is owned by Host Hotels & Resorts and is managed by Marriott International, Inc.

All guestrooms and suites at the JW Marriott Hotel Washington, DC, feature a clean and crisp look that conveys a timeless sophistication that is warm and inviting and feature Marriott’s new, more luxurious bedding with plusher mattresses, softer sheets and more pillows.  All rooms come equipped with a 37-inch high-def LG® plasma screen television and a plug-in technology panel that provides guests with multi-tasking abilities through versatile multimedia usage.  For example, the screen can be split so guests can watch TV while checking e-mail or researching on the Internet from their own laptop.

The redesigned Presidential and Vice-Presidential suites have access to the 7,000 square foot terrace overlooking the renowned Pennsylvania Avenue, boasting views of the Capitol Building and the Washington Monument.  The multi-room suites are over 1,700 square feet and feature 50-inch HD LG® televisions, one touch lighting controls and state-of-the-art Kohler® bathroom fixtures.  The Presidential suites have conference sized tables with multi-media plug-in capabilities.  The largest suite features a custom spa shower and tub featuring Kohler’s DTV® electronic interface with sound and ambient lighting effects. The walls in the suites have been adorned by art by all-American artists. 

The hotel’s atrium lobby has been updated with a sophisticated urban new look and feel that blends informal elegance with modern technology.  The contemporary tones of red, gold and platinum; cherry wood paneling, and leather wrapped columns, throughout the lobby create an ambience that is both dynamic and comfortable.   Semi-private seating areas allow guests to socialize, work and play. With Wifi through out the hotel, guest can upload and work on their personal laptops or unplug and kick up their feet on oversized chairs and relax in front the media walls with flat screen high-def televisions.  

The hotel has several dinning experiences including Avenue Grill, an All-American menu that serves both breakfast and lunch buffets and ala carte dinner; Bar 1331 with a menu that features creative cocktails and plates to share; Starbucks® featuring coffee, espresso drinks, sandwiches, breakfast foods and an assortment of desserts and pastries; 24 hour room service is also available.
