Marriott Business Services: A Decade of Growth
Honoring the Past… Anticipating the Future
In November 2000, Marriott Business Services (MBS) opened its doors in Louisville, Tenn. to provide accounting support for four “pilot” hotels in Boston, Mass. Over the last ten years, MBS has grown from the original 33 employees to more than 600, providing a variety of accounting services to thousands of Marriott hotels and operating units around the world.
MBS quickly established itself in the community and in 2008 received the Overall Award for Business Excellence in Blount County (presented by the Blount County Chamber of Commerce). Marriott Business Services has also been recognized by an independent benchmarking organization as a “World-Class Shared Services Center” every year since 2007.
Since 2002, MBS associates have logged more than 15,000 community service hours. In 2003, MBS’ community involvement earned the Alice S. Marriott Award for Community Service. In connection to MBS’ Spirit to Serve Campaign, associates have worked over the last decade to support the Blount County, Tenn. chapters of more than 21 nonprofit organizations, including The American Cancer Society, Boys and Girls Club, United Way, Adopt-a-Highway and the American Red Cross.
