London Marriott Hotel Park Lane Set to Raise the Bar for Mayfair Hotels

Long Marriott Hotel Park LaneLONDON - December 16, 2014 - London Marriott Hotel Park Lane is set to complete an extensive renovation in June 2015 as part of the repositioning of the hotel to represent the best of Marriott in London and to be the hotel of choice in Mayfair. 

Housed within a Grade II listed property, London Marriott Hotel Park Lane will epitomise Mayfair elegance, with views over Hyde Park, opulent guestroom accommodation and luxurious public areas befitting of the prestigious address.

The interiors of London Marriott Hotel Park Lane are currently undergoing a complete transformation. RPW Design is responsible for the plans that extend to all 152 bedrooms, the introduction of five new suites and a redesign of the lobby, Executive Lounge and meeting rooms.

Nicolas Kipper, the newly appointed General Manager, comments: “We aim to compete with the best hotels in London with an exclusive and unique Marriott offering. The new design, an increased suite count, an elevated service and an enhanced in-room offering, will make us even more appealing to the luxury market.”

The new layout of rooms will include entrance lobbies and will be decorated in soft shades of white, dove grey and lavender. Materials such as leather, silk, solid wood and bookmatched marble are to be used throughout.

RPW Design’s Managing Director Jan Wilson said: “Our designs aim to bring out the English Heritage of the Francis Verity designed historic building extending its intimate feel and residential character into the hotel’s interior. Elegantly designed rooms and public spaces will have all the facilities expected in a leading luxury hotel.”

Impeccable attention to detail of the hotel’s interior will be matched with quintessentially British touches. A collection of British artwork features throughout the hotel and Royal Warrant holder suppliers include Edward Goodyear handpicked wild flowers and Floris bathroom amenities.

The guest experience will be elevated with the introduction of a signature arrival and bespoke personal service. Cutting edge technology will be offered with Apple products throughout, bluetooth LCD screen TVs and mobile check-in.

The transformation of the interiors follows the opening of Lanes of London restaurant at the hotel in January 2014.  The Club offers a serene retreat complete with steam room, state-of-the-art gym equipment and the only pool on Park Lane. Plans for renovations of The Club are set to be announced.

AC Hotels by Marriott Opens in Spain and Turkey, Under Construction in Israel

London, UK – November 17, 2014 – Marriott International Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) continues to expand its AC Hotels by Marriott brand, with three new properties in Valencia, Spain; Istanbul, Turkey; and Tel Aviv, Israel, bringing the total to 80 opened or signed hotels in Europe.  The new additions exemplify the brand’s urban aesthetic with modern interiors and clean, crisp lines.

AC HOTEL COLON VALENCIA  BARAC Hotel Colón Valencia, Spain
The 91-room AC Hotel Colón Valencia, Spain, has opened as the brand’s second property in the city and sixtieth in Spain.  Run under a management contract with AC Hotel La Carolina SL, the hotel is located in the commercial and financial district, surrounded by bars and restaurants, and a short distance from the bullring, medieval centre and the Carmen quarter, a lively tourist area.

The hotel boasts an AC Lounge & Bistro restaurant, three meeting rooms, Fitness Centre, business centre and a terrace.  There are excellent public transport links to the airport, industrial suburbs and port, and the hotel is within walking distance of North Valencia rail station and just ten minutes by car from the Palacio de Congressos and fifteen minutes from the beach.

AC Hotels by Marriott made its debut in Turkey with the opening of the 98-room AC Hotel Istanbul Maçka, operated under a franchise agreement with Tans Turizm ve Otelcilik A.S.  In the upmarket Akaretler residential neighbourhood, one kilometre from Taksim Square, the property is located on the European side of the city, close to Maçka Park and the Istanbul Congress Centre, making it well placed for both leisure and corporate guests.

Still under construction and projected to open in January 2016, the AC Hotel Herzliya is in the central business district of Herzliya, a short drive from Tel Aviv, and adjacent to the Herzliya Business Park, which is home to multinational organisations such as Siemens and Microsoft. The property is also just metres away from Herzliya Marina and the beach.

Facilities include an AC Lounge with a sea view, Bistro restaurant, separate bar, lobby with library wall and 23m ceilings, outdoor pool and pool bar overlooking the beach, plus two meeting rooms (largest room, 250 people cabaret style).

The unique design concept created by Dana Oberson architects draws inspiration from the hotel’s location in Herzliya – a city that combines an urban business centre with marina and beach life. A combination of beige and blue, terrazzo and concrete flooring, iron, brass and wood elements create an urban marina atmosphere in the public spaces that continues through to the guest rooms.  Interesting, hand-picked ornaments and furniture enrich the design and create a warm and eclectic feel throughout the hotel.

Marriott's Signature Brand Continues Expansion in Latin America With Plans For First Hotel in Ecuador

Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez is a major local developer in Guayaquil who also opened the famous Sanchez Aguilar Theatre, The Plaza Buena Vista Mall and the Plaza del Prado Mall.

Opening next year, the one-of-a-kind hotels will represent the debut of the exclusive portfolio of independent hotels in each city.

 Kameha Grand Zurich, Autograph CollectionWhen opened in spring 2015, the new 245-room Kameha Grand Zurich will represent the first Autograph Collection hotel to open in Switzerland.  Featuring stunning architecture and world class interior design by acclaimed Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, the hotel will be operated by Kameha Grand Glattpark Betriebsgeselleschaft mbH. The hotel is widely recognized for its eleven “themed” suites exclusively designed for the hotel by Wanders, including a “Poker Face” suite with roulette and poker tables and a “Serenity” suite featuring special lighting and select yoga and wellness accessories.  John Licence added, “With its creative design and playful personality, Kameha Grand Zurich truly captures the spirit of Autograph Collection.”

The hotel boasts three unique options for dining: Restaurant L’Unico featuring fresh homemade pasta and Italian specialties prepared in an open show-kitchen; fine dining Japanese restaurant Yu Nijo; and the Puregold Bar. Marriott International Plans Second Hotel in Belarus

London, August 18, 2014 – Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAR) is expanding in Belarus with plans to open a second hotel in the country.  The 220-room Marriott Minsk Hotel is expected to open in early 2015 and will operate under a franchise agreement with Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG.  The hotel will be the second Marriott International property in Belarus after the recently opened Renaissance Minsk Hotel.

Marriott Minsk is part of an extensive new sports and entertainment development located approximately four kilometres from Minsk city centre.  The complex will provide a wide range of leisure facilities including a swimming pool, squash courts, tennis courts, massage rooms, fitness centre, bowling alley and cinema.  The hotel itself will have two restaurants, a lobby lounge bar, a cigar bar and nightclub.  For meetings and events, there will be thirteen meeting rooms and a large ballroom which can accommodate up to 600 people.

Marriott Minsk guestroomThe hotel will be fresh and contemporary in style with the brand’s Greatroom lobby concept providing a comfortable and welcoming destination for guests and locals to gather, by themselves or with friends or colleagues, to relax, socialise and work.  Guestrooms will feature neutral tones and natural materials reflecting a new design direction for the brand which focuses on creating a residential feel.

Courtyard by Marriott Expands to Bosnia & Herzegovina

Courtyard-SarajevoLondon, UK, July 10, 2014 Courtyard by Marriott, a Marriott International brand designed especially to address the needs of business travellers, plans to open its first hotel in Bosnia and Herzegovina next year.  The 130-room Courtyard by Marriott Sarajevo is expected to open in mid-2015 and will operate under a franchise agreement with Lake d.o.o. and Interstate Hotels & Resorts.  The hotel will be the second Marriott International property in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the Residence Inn Sarajevo, which will open in early 2015.

Courtyard Sarajevo will feature the brand’s refreshing new European design created to provide business travellers with comfortable and stylish surroundings, integrated technology to promote productivity and 24-hour access to food and drink.  The hotel will offer spacious guestrooms with clean lines, an energising Mediterranean colour palette and contemporary, locally inspired furnishings.  Multiple, accessible outlets and free high-speed internet will make plugging in and working seamless and easy.

Marriott Hotels Puts the World in Your Hands – Expands Mobile Check-in and Checkout for Marriott Rewards Members to Nearly 500 Hotels

To put even more power in the hands of travelers, Marriott Hotels, the flagship brand of Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR) has expanded mobile check-in and checkout globally for Marriott Rewards members to nearly 500 hotels. This means Marriott Rewards guests from London to Dubai to Shanghai to Mexico City to New York can simply check-in and checkout using the wildly popular Marriott Mobile app on their smartphone. First introduced last year at its hotels in the United States and Canada, Marriott Hotels mobile check-in and checkout is now available in every continent where its nearly 500 properties are located.* 

With the Marriott Mobile app, check-in and checkout is simple to use. Marriott Rewards members receive a push notification on their Apple iPhones or Android devices after 4 pm on the day before their arrival alerting them they can check-in. Then they receive an automatic notification when their room is ready. Because payment information is stored within members profiles, guests simply walk up to the expedited mobile check-in desk where their pre-programmed key card will be waiting for them.

CheckOut_ESAt the end of their stays, guests receive a push notification alerting them mobile checkout is available. Upon completion, guests will then be prompted to provide an email address where their bill will be sent, allowing them to bypass the front desk.

“When we first began testing mobility, we went straight to the experts, our guests, who told us they wanted the power to check-in and checkout on their smartphones,” said Paul Cahill, senior vice president of brand management for Marriott Hotels. “Among Millennials, nine out of ten who tried mobile check-in and checkout for the first time gave it high marks and said they would use it again for their next stay.”
