Mr. T Joins a New A-Team With Fairfield Inn & Suites®

Mr TTV Legend Stars as “Mr. Guaran-T” in New Video Series Featuring the Fairfield 100% Guarantee™

Bethesda, Md., November 11, 2015 – We pity the fool who doesn’t understand that in the hospitality business it’s everyone’s job to help guests stay amazing.  And in an effort to do so, guests need a guarantee that any issue that arises will be resolved on the spot.  Fairfield Inn & Suites® counts on an A-Team of associates across more than 750 hotels worldwide, who know how to get the job done right--every time.  Now they have a new colleague, TV legend and entrepreneur, Mr. T.  Known for his no-nonsense attitude, he is transformed from Mr. T to “Mr. Guaran-T” in a new video series which debuts today and features the Fairfield 100% Guarantee. Download image.

“I’m the enforcer!  You tell me what you need done and I make it happen.  That’s what guests expect and deserve from a great hotel brand and a great associate.” said Mr. T himself. “But even I had to learn a thing or two to put my muscle to work for hotel guests.  I guarantee you’ll have a laugh when you watch the videos and you’ll see for yourself why Fairfield Inn & Suites is the place to stay if you want 100% satisfaction from the moment you check-in until the time you check-out.”

According to a recent survey conducted by Fairfield Inn & Suites, frequent business travelers find more value in a seamless experience; therefore if an issue arises, they prefer a hotel associate to resolve the issue versus just offering compensation.  Additionally, 90% of leisure travelers reported that an overt satisfaction guarantee is required to instill confidence in the guest experience. In fact, this policy often influences consumer’s consideration and choice when booking travel.

“Our guests’ time and the quality of their experience are of the utmost importance to us. The Fairfield 100% Guarantee is a promise to our guests that they’ll be satisfied with their stay or we’ll make it right!,” said Shruti Buckley, vice president and global brand manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites. “Travelers want assurance that someone has their back while they are on the road, and we’re communicating our commitment to guest satisfaction in a unique way.  We look for amazing, multi-talented people to tell our story, which is why we’re thrilled to be working with Mr. T.  He gets us and understands our commitment to our guests.”

The video seriesowcases the transformation from rough-and-gruff Mr. T to a mild-mannered, service-oriented associate known as Mr. Guaran-T.  In the videos, Fairfield’s newest associate learns how to solve everyday guest needs with a little less muscle and a lot more heart.  The videos are available at https://www.youtube.com/Mr_Guaran-T and http://fairfield.marriott.com/guarantee.php

New Yorkers Light Up Grand Central Terminal at All-Day Dance Party

Fairfield Inn & Suites and Life Time Fitness logosBethesda, Md., – Sept. 16, 2015 – Fairfield Inn & Suites helps add a jolt of energy to New Yorkers’ morning routine today, reminding them of the importance of fitness when one is on the go. In its ongoing commitment to help travelers maintain a healthy routine on the road, the hotel brand announces its partnership with Life Time, The Healthy Way of Life Company, with a giant high-tech calorie-counting dance floor, pumped up music and a whole lot of action. Commuters, tourists and passers-by are invited to jump and dance on the floor that is “powered by the people” and lights up according to movement led by professional trainers and an acclaimed local performer.

“There is no better way to celebrate health and fitness than moving to music and having a big dance party,” said Shruti Buckley, vice president and global brand manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites. “It is our mission to give our guests everything they need to maintain their momentum on the road. We know people value their workout routines and our new partnership is a natural extension that allows them to work out however they please, whether in our newly designed gyms or at Life Time destinations.”

The fun begins at 7am at Vanderbilt Hall in New York City’s iconic Grand Central Terminal, as thousands of commuters make their way through one of the world’s most famous train stations. Well-known Life Time Group Fitness instructors Patricia Moreno and Calvin Wiley, along with several others from area destinations, will keep energy levels on high all day long with calorie-burning routines, while DJ Q spins sweat-inducing tracks. Local sensation Tylon Moore, known as the Hip Hop Acrobat, will stun the crowd with his phenomenal moves. People will receive KIND bars and Propel water to give them fuel to burn on the dance floor.

Because it’s Hard to Keep Momentum on the Road
It's no secret that staying in tip-top shape on the road is tough. According to a recent survey by Fairfield Inn & Suites, 57 percent of travelers work out less when on the road – in fact, it’s a grim state of affairs for healthy habits among business travelers. The survey also reveals:

  • 59% of business travelers eat less healthy
  • 49% have more stress
  • 47% sleep less

But hope is not lost for travelers across the country. “As The Healthy Way of Life Company, Life Time is committed to improving the health of America via our destinations and programming nationwide,” said Jason Thunstrom, Life Time vice president. “For the road warriors, this means maintaining a fitness routine while away from home. In collaboration with Fairfield Inns & Suites, we are proud to offer travelers unique fitness offerings that inspire them to live healthier, active lives no matter where they are.”

The new partnership offers the following benefits to Fairfield Inn & Suites guests:

  • Life Time expert-led training videos and nutrition tips in Fairfield’s 24/7 best-in-class fitness centers
  • Seven-day complimentary access to any Life Time destination nationwide and Canada (days do not need to be consecutive)
  • An instant $150 in LT BUCK$ for Fairfield guests choosing to become a Life Time member, which can be used towards any service at Life Time*

The partnership is one of the many ways that Fairfield Inn & Suites is enhancing its wellness offerings for guests. For reservations and more information on Fairfield Inn & Suites, visit www.fairfieldinn.com or call 800-228-2800.

National Amazing Month Inspires Americans to Say Thank You

National Amazing Month logoDigital trailblazer Randi Zuckerberg kicks off feel-good campaign

Bethesda, Md., April 23, 2015 – It takes tremendous skill to balance life’s demands and juggle the tasks one needs to accomplish every day. Still, most Americans manage to maintain momentum and not skip a beat with a little help from some amazing people. In celebration of those unsung heroes, Fairfield Inn & Suites has kicked off National Amazing Month (May), encouraging people to take time to acknowledge these individuals who enable us to be our best every day.

Celebrating Amazing

A little appreciation goes a long way…

Stay AmazingStarting today and through the end of May, people are encouraged to nominate the most amazing people they know at Fairfieldhotels.tumblr.com for a chance to win a free beach getaway for two to Bali, Indonesia.*  Enter a photo and share memories of the big or little things your person did that has inspired you or kept you stay amazing.

Visitors to the site can also access greeting cards that can be shared across social channels, thanking “their village” of helpers.

For entrepreneur, author, Broadway performer, wife and mother Randi Zuckerberg, having the support of family and friends is critical for managing the juggling act that is her life. “We can all strive for better work/life balance, but you can’t succeed without the support of the people around you,” said Zuckerberg. “Whatever your professional and personal goals are, it’s important to acknowledge the people who help you keep going. I’m thrilled to be a part of National Amazing Month, and I’m nominating my dear friend and trainer Ty Texidor, for helping me embrace a healthy, active lifestyle while also balancing a hectic work and personal schedule, for a trip to Bali!”

What Makes Someone Amazing?

A recent survey conducted by Fairfield Inn & Suites found that an overwhelming majority of Americans (93 percent) equate being an amazing person with being kind and caring, and 81 percent (84 percent for Millennials) believe amazing people have work/life balance. Other highly ranked characteristics are:

  • Positivity: 87 percent
  • Generosity: 78 percent
  • Creativity: 78 percent
  • Career-driven/successful at work: 43 percent

Who Helps Americans Stay Amazing?

National Amazing Month is a celebration of everyone whose actions help others be their best. The survey revealed that 87 percent of Americans believe the people you surround yourself with make an impact on your balance.

The most important people in their lives who help them stay amazing include:

  • Spouse/Significant Other: 69 percent
  • Friends: 68 percent
  • Parents: 53 percent
  • Pets: 48 percent
  • Coworkers: 32 percent
  • Children: 30 percent

Americans also derive support from unexpected sources including random acts of kindness or an unexpected smile from a stranger (23 percent); and interestingly, men are more likely than women to say that children are instrumental in helping them maintain balance in their life (39 percent vs. 28 percent)

Keeping Balance on the Road is Hard for Business Travelers

For many people, including business travelers, being amazing means being able to stick to a productive routine, even on the road. While 50 percent of Americans claim to lead a balanced life, only 35 percent of adults feel their life is balanced while traveling. Other challenges with business travel include:

  • Eating less healthy: 59 percent
  • Working out less: 57 percent
  • Experiencing more stress: 49 percent
  • Sleeping less: 47 percent

“Life at work, on the road and at home is a juggling act which takes tremendous skill,” said Shruti Buckley, vice president and global brand manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites. “National Amazing Month is a campaign we are passionate about because it allows us to shine a light on the little things that people do which have tremendous impact.”

Who is the Most Amazing Person You Know?
Starting today the most amazing people in America can receive the recognition they deserve. Anyone who helps you stay on track – a barista, a personal trainer, a spouse, colleague or friend – can be celebrated on the Fairfield Inn & Suites Tumblr page at fairfieldhotels.tumblr.com. Visitors to the site can upload a photo of the person or something kind that they do which allows others to maintain momentum. Every week, Fairfield Inn & Suites will post select entries and reward nominators with $250 gift cards for use at any Fairfield Inn & Suites property. The grand prize is a five-day, four-night trip for two Bali, Indonesia. The winner will be announced in June.

*Visit stayamazingcontest.dja.com for full contest rules.

A Message to the Class of 2014: Connecting is the Key to Igniting Your Career

Everyday-ConnectFairfield Inn & Suites Launches “Everyday Connect” to Mentor Next Generation Business Travelers

Bethesda, Md., May 19, 2014 - Everyday is an opportunity to connect, to be inspired by others and to use the power of professional networks to realize a dream. Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott is helping future business travelers with the launch of “Everyday Connect,” a multimedia resource offering college graduates career insights from young entrepreneurs who were featured on this year’s Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

The campaign, housed on Tumblr at http://everyday-connect.com, starts a conversation with young professionals and reinforces the idea that the next generation of business leaders needs to invest in real, meaningful relationships to help propel their careers. It reminds college graduates, entering a challenging job market, to take the time now at the start of their professional journey to build long-lasting relationships that will inspire them to succeed in whatever they choose to do.

“Everyday Connect” features short films, infographics, tips and survey data to help graduates identify opportunities and build their own professional network. Fairfield enlisted four entrepreneurs from various industries to share their thoughts on the power of mentorship and personal connections. “Everyday Connect” program ambassadors include  Mark Arnoldy, Executive Director at Possible Health; Eden Full, Founder, SunSaluter; Meg Gill, President/Co-Founder, Golden Road Brewing; and Kane Sarhan, Co-Founder of [E]nstitute.

“At Fairfield, we see ourselves as a partner for business travelers on the road, helping them keep their momentum strong and stay connected with people who matter to them,” said Shruti Buckley, vice president and global brand manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites. “Everyday Connect is an engaging way for us to share some wisdom from our exceptional group of mentors and offer the next generation some tips and advice that will help them achieve their goals.”

A survey conducted by Fairfield Inn & Suites among 1,000 employed adults over the age of 21 nationwide revealed:

Seventy-seven percent of people are willing to help college graduates find work.

  • Forty-nine percent of respondents claim to have a mentor in their profession.

  • Recognition is not of significant importance to people who help others in their professional network – only 51 percent of respondents said that this mattered to them.
  • A phone call is the generally preferred method of acknowledgment, with 91 percent of respondents saying this is an appropriate way to express appreciation, followed by a thank-you card (88 percent), or an e-mail (81 percent). A post on a social media network will sooner suffice (27 percent) than flowers (26 percent).
  • Sixty-six percent of respondents acknowledged the power of personal relationships in helping them maintain momentum in their careers.

The survey data reveals that there is a strong inclination among working adults to help young people at the start of their careers find work. A large majority of respondents cite personal connections as helping them in their careers, and almost half say they have a mentor in their profession, demonstrating there is a willingness to pay forward the support and guidance they have received. In a digital world, survey respondents revealed a great interest in maintaining the lines of communication open.

Consumers Get Chance to Reconnect and Reunite Through “Everyday Connect”

Fairfield is not only providing practical advice and information with the “Everyday Connect” campaign, but it is also extending the opportunity to consumers to reconnect and reunite with the people who have helped them succeed in their careers. Starting June 2, a series of questions will be posted via the brand’s Twitter handle - over a four-week period around the power of personal connections. Based on the responses, five winners will be chosen and given a trip to reunite with the mentor of their choice in New York City as well as meet with the campaign’s influencers.  Click here for full contest details:

Fairfield Inn & Suites Helps Small Businesses ELEVATE To New Heights

FIS-Women Small Business-FINAL-WINNERSHotel brand’s support of women entrepreneurs inspires growth, collaboration and innovation.

Bethesda, Md., November 13, 2013 – Twenty ambitious and energetic female entrepreneurs, in industries ranging from financial planning to jewelry design, are more connected and visible after participating in Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott’s ELEVATE fueled by Fairfield program for women-owned small businesses.

Throughout the three-month ELEVATE initiative, Fairfield Inn & Suites provided hotel meeting space and other resources in the Baltimore, MD; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; New York, NY; and Washington, D.C. areas, which the program participants creatively used to make the greatest impact for their businesses. Their efforts included arranging photo shoots, as well as hosting networking events, ribbon cuttings, seminars and workshops.

“Women-owned business is a vital part of American entrepreneurship,” said Shruti Buckley, vice president and global brand manager for Fairfield Inn & Suites. “Doing what we can at Fairfield to help the ELEVATE participants come closer to attaining their business goals has been a valuable and inspiring experience for us.”

Fairfield Inn & Suites awarded a $5,000 business grant to ELEVATE participant Dominique Broadway, founder of financial services consultancy Finances Demystified, for demonstrating the most creativity in the use of hotel meeting areas and program resources. Broadway utilized the Fairfield space to help her business bloom by conducting corporate planning sessions, hosting a kick-off event for her Social Money Tour and shooting 24 financial tip videos for small business owners.

“Being part of the ELEVATE program was beyond what I expected,” said Broadway. “I’ve faced numerous challenges as a small business owner and the resources provided by Fairfield Inn & Suites have allowed me to get my name out there and grow my business exponentially.” Broadway will use the grant to further develop her financial education programs and create online classes and interactive workshops.

In addition to Broadway, many of the participants elevated their businesses thanks to the program and use of the Fairfield hotel meeting space, including:

• Elana Reinholtz, founder of Bird & Stone, a socially conscious jewelry design company, who hosted her first-ever trunk show atop Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Manhattan/Chelsea’s rooftop terrace;
• Regina Brooks, owner of Régine Danielle Events & Design, who booked 65 percent of her available dates for 2014, due to having space to meet with clients; and
• Somya Munjal, founder of financial literacy education business Youthful Savings, who hosted a fundraiser for an upcoming empowerment program and credits the space for its success.

“More than twenty-five years ago, Fairfield Inn & Suites started off as a small brand itself,” said Buckley. “Today, we are finding meaningful ways to help others grow and showcasing our commitment to supporting local communities and commerce.”
