Christmas Comes Early as Gaylord Hotels’ Holiday Packages Go on Sale

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 22, 2014—Gaylord Hotels today announced details for elaborate holiday experiences coming to its four giant resorts from mid-November through early January.

Ranging from 1,300 to 2,882 guest rooms, the hotels will collectively display 6 million Christmas lights, nearly 30,000 poinsettias and 8 million pounds of colorful ice sculptures at its signature ICE! attraction.

All four resorts feature soaring, multi-acre atriums with breathtaking indoor gardens and waterfalls accented with towering Christmas trees, oversized wreaths and ornaments and dazzling details around every bend. “Our most popular holiday attraction is ICE!, an interactive frozen fantasy world that is kept at nine degrees,” said Lyng. “We partner with master ice artisans from Harbin, China, to produce brilliantly colored panoramas of hand-carved ice sculptures. More than 2 million pounds of ice are used at each resort. Gaylord Hotels Introduces New Treatments at Relâche Spa

Nashville, Tenn., March 11, 2014 – Guests visiting one of the four Gaylord Hotels resorts’ Relâche Spa this spring will discover a brand new menu with signature treatments.

Beginning in April, each of the hotel’s resorts (Gaylord National, Gaylord Opryland, Gaylord Palms and Gaylord Texan) will incorporate its indoor botanical gardens experience into a new line of signature therapies.

Joining in the farm-to-spa movement, the hotels partnered with Body Bliss to develop custom aromatherapy blends that incorporate the benefits of indigenous plants from each of its four regions (including Kissimmee, Fla., National Harbor, Md., Nashville, Tenn. and Grapevine, Texas). Guests experiencing the signature treatments can choose from the grounding scent of National Wild Ginger, the calming scent of Opryland Lavender Bliss, the healing scent of Texan Blue Sage or the uplifting scent of Palms Citrus Magnolia.

Understanding nature’s therapeutic qualities, Relâche Spa has created a new healing culture with the botanical blends developed for its signature therapies. The Country's 'Coolest' Holiday Attraction Returns to Gaylord Hotels

Nashville, Tenn., October 23, 2013— For those seeking out the “coolest” ways to kick the Christmas season into high gear, Gaylord Hotels’ signature holiday attraction is sure to impress.

ICE!, which anchors the holiday festivities at Gaylord Hotels’ four massive resorts, is back and bigger than ever in 2013 with more than 2 million pounds of ice carvings at each location and new themes depicting scenes straight out of classic holiday tales.

“ICE! is kept at 9 degrees with 10-inch-thick walls, and visitors are given warm parkas to wear as they walk through,” said Warren Lyng, director of special events for Gaylord Hotels. “We’ve made it our goal to be among the country's ‘coolest’ holiday attractions, and it’s fun to see families identifying us that way.”

Visitors to Gaylord Opryland’s A Country Christmas in Nashville, Tenn., and Christmas at Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Fla., near Orlando, can join everyone’s favorite snowman and his friends on their quest to the North Pole in a colorfully frozen retelling of Frosty the Snowman™.

At Gaylord Texan’s Lone Star Christmas in Grapevine, Texas, near Dallas, favorite scenes from The Nutcracker will come to life, accompanied by the original Tchaikovsky score, in a magical adventure with Clara and her Nutcracker Prince. In addition, the resort will feature a giant 8-lane indoor snow tubing hill made with real snow.

At Gaylord National’s Christmas on the Potomac in National Harbor, Md., near Washington, D.C., guests will see Ma in her kerchief, Pa in his cap and Saint Nick with his eight reindeer in scenes from the classic holiday poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

A series of inter-connected rooms features breathtaking larger-than-life, 3-D sculpted ice pieces, including fantastic recreations of beloved characters, two-story tall ice slides and memorable holiday scenes. The awe-inspiring experience concludes with the wonder of the Nativity of crystal clear ice.

Forty Chinese artisans arrive at each location in mid-October and will spend approximately 40 days creating extraordinary works of ice, enhanced with lights and natural dyes to create a series of brilliantly colored panoramas. Many of the artisans also work to build displays at the world-famous Harbin Ice and Snow Festival. 

ICE! opens mid-November and runs through early January. Group outings and holiday parties at ICE! also are available and guaranteed to give “chills.” There is no cooler place to “pop the question” than with a wedding proposal package inside ICE!

Gaylord Hotels Joins Marriott International – Becomes Marriott Rewards Newest Brand Offering Unique Experiences, More Choices

Marriott Rewards members can now earn and redeem points at three of Gaylord Hotels’ premier resorts  -  Gaylord National, National Harbor, MD (just outside Washington, DC); Gaylord Palms, Kissimmee, FL (near Orlando, FL); and Gaylord Texan, Grapevine, TX (on the outskirts of Dallas). 

Gaylord Opryland, Nashville, TN, will join the program in early 2013 and The Inn at Opryland will join the program toward the end of 2012.  

Gaylord Hotels are the 14th brand in the Marriott Rewards portfolio, which offers members the hotel industry’s most extensive array of brands and unique travel experiences. Marriott Completes Acquisition of Gaylord Hotels Brand and Hotel Management Company

BETHESDA, Md., Oct. 1, 2012 – Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) said today that it has completed the transaction announced on May 31 with Gaylord Entertainment Company, now Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RHP), to acquire the Gaylord brand and hotel management company for $210 million.

Gaylord Entertainment’s shareholders approved that company’s transition to a real estate investment trust on September 25, and Gaylord Entertainment merged with Ryman Hospitality Properties and assumed that name today.   Ryman will continue to own the existing four Gaylord hotels and Marriott will manage the properties under long-term agreements. 

In addition, Marriott will also manage three Nashville attractions, effective today:  the General Jackson Showboat, Gaylord Springs Golf Links, and Wildhorse Saloon.  On December 1, Marriott will assume management of the Radisson Hotel Opryland, which will then be renamed The Inn at Opryland, a Gaylord Hotel.   Ryman will also continue to own these properties.  The transaction adds five hotels and approximately 8,100 rooms to the Marriott International portfolio.  

Gaylord Hotels are uniquely positioned in the group and family leisure segments with approximately 2 million square feet of meeting and event space. They offer multiple opportunities for recreation, shopping, and dining, as well as entertainment, such as their partnership with DreamWorks™.
