Renaissance Dallas Hotel Announces the Grand Opening of New LEED Silver Certified Premium Venue and Event Space

City_View_Terrace_8851Features state-of-the art ballrooms, farm-to-fire family style catering program and a rooftop terrace with a skyline view of Downtown Dallas.

November 13, 2014− The Renaissance Dallas Hotel will unveil multi-million dollar innovative, modern event and meeting spaces, during its by invitation only grand opening celebration on November 20th. One of sixteen family-owned properties within the JWM Family Enterprises portfolio of hotels, J.W. Marriott, Jr. and John W. Marriott III, along with executives of the Marriott and Renaissance brand, will host a night of discoveries unveiling "A New Standard of Style". The evening will include an avant-garde fashion presentation by Jan Strimple accompanied by tunes from Celebrity DJ Brandon Olds among other surprises. Concepting Celebrity Chef Dean James Max along with his culinary team including Renaissance Dallas Executive Chef Frank Quant and Asador's Executive Chef Brad Phillips will feature action stations showcasing the hotel's farm-to-fire cuisine.

"We are excited to share our innovative and versatile venue with our clients, industry partners and the City of Dallas," said Mark Woelffer, General Manager, Renaissance Dallas. "Our grand opening celebration will prove to be one that guests will remember and definitely set a new standard of style for the event industry."

Located at 2222 N. Stemmons Freeway, the Renaissance Dallas' new 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space includes a 16,000 square-foot technologically advanced Grand Ballroom accommodating up to 1,500 guests. The Grand Ballroom space bodes modern décor, 24-foot vaulted ceilings, skylight crystal chandeliers, a state-of-the art lighting and sound system with remote controlled screens, and window shades allowing natural light during the day. The event space also features linen-less rectangular tables seating 8-10, easily accessible direct load in capabilities and a separate valet entrance for event guests.

The most unique space within the hotels' addition is the 10,000 square foot City View Terrace offering expansive views of the Downtown Dallas skyline. Interior space include 6,000 square feet of event space with floor to ceiling windows and 4,000 square feet of outdoor terrace with a retractable canopy, ambient lighting and city views.

The new addition to the hotel is certified LEED Standard Silver, a cornerstone to the Renaissance Dallas' commitment to sustainability and care for the environment.

In addition to the new venue and event space, the event-catering food and beverage program is just as exceptional. Concepting Chef Dean Max and Executive Chef Brad Phillips provide the hotel with a variety of seasonal options for events, keeping the quality of food his highest priority. The catering program mirrors that of the hotel's recognized award-winning restaurant, Asador. Taking inspiration from the changing seasons, the food and craft cocktail options for events change four times per year and include fresh, organic and locally-sourced products. A family-style service, giving events a more casual-modern feel yet with the same quality service, is also an option for events of any size.

"We will provide our customers with healthier products processed in a safe environment.  Our focus on localism has multiple benefits," said Chef Dean Max. "First, it is important to our local groups that appreciate us keeping the business in our community with people they know and trust.  Secondly, our out-of-town guests who are in continuous meetings can now explore the tastes of this region through a culinary experience."

What has been a landmark hotel in the City of Dallas for more than 30 years, the Renaissance Dallas is poised and ready to invite Dallas' social and corporate event clients to experience something new and imaginative. Bookings through 2016 have already begun and as the hotel embarks on the newest chapter in its history, they usher in a new season of event discoveries.

Marriott Hotels Again Invites Travel Influencers and Enthusiasts to Submit Bold Ideas on TravelBrilliantly.com That Could Change the Future of Travel

Travel Brilliantly Ideas PageFollowing up on the successful launch of its website TravelBrilliantly.com, Marriott Hotels, the flagship brand of Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAR), today launched a new round of co-creation for 2014 in the United States and – for the first time – the United Kingdom. Ideas from the public submitted to TravelBrilliantly.com through the end of April will be entered into a co-creation contest.* The grand-prize winner will travel to the company’s Bethesda, MD headquarters to work alongside Marriott experts on forward-thinking projects in its innovation lab, The Underground.

Geared towards modern travelers who seamlessly blend work and play, TravelBrilliantly.com has been soliciting travel ideas for design, culinary, wellness and technology since it launched with the brand’s Travel Brilliantly marketing campaign in June 2013. Visitors to the site can also watch videos of innovations Marriott Hotels is working on now for the future of travel.

”With Travel Brilliantly, Marriott Hotels is rethinking the travel experience beyond the four walls of the hotel,“ said Mara Hannula, vice president of Marketing, Marriott-endorsed Brands. “As we transform the iconic Marriott Hotels brand, we are continuing to engage our guests, giving them a voice in co-creating the future of travel with us.“

A panel of four judges -- Shira Lazar, Host/Founder of What's Trending, Faris Yakob, Founder, Genius Steals LLC, Chris Baer, Director of Innovation at Marriott, and Anjana Kallarackal, grand prize winner from TravelBrilliantly.com’s first co-creation contest -- will choose the next grand-prize winner.  In addition, three first prize winners will receive prize packages, including items from Herschel Supply Co. and Brookstone** that will enable brilliant travel.

From more than 700 submissions to TravelBrilliantly.com in last year’s co-creation contest, Kallarackal’s concept, a healthy and nutritious vending machine, rose to the top. Kallarackal traveled to the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square to work with Marriott Hotels’ experts and local innovative partners, Simon Prockter, the Founder/CEO of Housebites, Shaun Clarkson, interior designer and owner of Pitfield Café, and Laurence Holloway, recipient of the 2013 British Young Business Award for his company, Lovestruck, to further develop her winning idea. A video of Kallarackal’s trip can be viewed on TravelBrilliantly.com. Once fully developed, her inspirational idea will come to life at a Marriott Hotels’ property later this year.

As a part of Marriott Hotel's transformation for the next generation of travelers, the iconic brand continues to innovate globally. With the expansion of mobile check-in feature globally on the Marriott Mobile app, guests can check-in to 350 Marriott Hotels’ properties in 19 countries, using their smartphones. By the end of 2015, Marriott Hotels expects to fully introduce its re-designed Greatroom Lobby, to all hotels globally. The Greatroom Lobby is designed for the next generation traveler who blends work and play, demands style and substance, and requires technology. Additionally, as the industry leader in hosting meetings, Marriott Hotels recently introduced new concepts for the mobile worker including Meetings Imagined, the Meeting Services App (Red Coat Direct) and Workspace on Demand.

Welcoming the Collaboration Generation into More Marriott Hotels -- Workspace On Demand Expands

Marriott Hotels - WorkSpace on DemandBethesda, MD – With today’s mobile technology and a renewed entrepreneurial spirit, work happens everywhere and at any time. Leading with its flagship Marriott Hotels’ brand, Marriott International (NYSE:MAR) is expanding its Workspace on Demand by Marriott program to select hotels throughout Northern and Southern California, Washington DC metro area, the New York metro area, Chicago and Dallas as well as a growing number of other markets throughout the US.

Customers needing a place to collaborate with colleagues or work individually can book spaces in Marriott Hotels’ thoughtfully designed Greatroom lobbies -- with their comfortable seating, lots of food and beverage options and free WiFi -- or in a small meeting space. Workspace On Demand by Marriott powered by LiquidSpace makes reserving these places to work, often for free, as easy as booking a guest room using your desktop, laptop or smartphone.

For a limited time, use a Visa® card and receive 20 percent off, up to $50, the first time you book Workspace On Demand by Marriott.  Visit www.WorkspaceOnDemand.marriott.com and use the code WORKONDEMAND.

The way people work today is changing, whether it is entrepreneurs and independent consultants or mobile employees at large corporations. By 2015, 1.3 billion people worldwide will be mobile workers1.  With downsizing, larger companies are reducing office space. An estimated more than 80 percent of Fortune 500 companies now have alternative workplace or mobile workforce policies in place2

“The trends are telling.  The way people work is changing.  And we’re right there with them.  Through Workspace On Demand by Marriott, we are enabling people to find and book workspaces when they need them,” said Paul Cahill, Brand Vice President, Marriott Hotels.  “We are challenging the notion that you have to be a hotel guest to use the hotel.  We are opening the doors and saying, ‘Come in, work in our lobbies and use our free WiFi.  Gather your team in our meeting rooms, whether it is all day or just for an hour.’  We made the process easy and are giving our customers the ability to book on whatever device they prefer.”

Workspace on Demand by Marriott is a collaboration between Marriott and LiquidSpace, a mobile/web app that connects real people to great spaces to work and meet.

“The world of work is transforming at an accelerating rate,” said Mark Gilbreath, founder and CEO of Liquidspace.  “Modern professionals are unplugging from cube farms and private offices and are leaving work to get work done.  They are taking ownership of the choice over where and how they work on a day to day basis.  Marriott has identified this shift and recognized the opportunity for their hotels to be not just a place to sleep but also a great place to get work done.  The combination of their trusted brand, service level and property portfolio makes them a compelling new entrant in the workspace industry.”

Marriott Hotels has been “re-imagining” the guest experience, transforming lobbies and public spaces by designing them for the next generation of travelers who blend work and play, demand style and substance, and require technology. As the industry leader in hosting meetings, Marriott is introducing new concepts designed for the new mobile worker.   Red Coat Direct, an application to allow meeting organizers meeting organizers to adjust and edit their meeting requests and preferences with a touch of a button and without ever leaving the meeting room is one example of how Marriott Hotels is further differentiating the customer experience.  Workspring at Marriott at the Redmond Marriott Town Center, the industry’s first purpose-built suite of integrated spaces and common areas designed for small meetings, takes a holistic approach, bringing together seamlessly integrated service, technology and contemporary design. It was created in partnership with Steelcase to support collaborative work, inspiring creativity and innovation.

In addition to select Marriott Hotels, spaces can be reserved through Workspace On Demand by Marriott at select JW Marriott, Renaissance, Autograph Collection, Courtyard by Marriott, Springhill Suites by Marriott, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott and TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotels.

The Convenient, Faster and Easier Marriott Mobile Check-in Just Got a Whole Lot Bigger

Service Now Throughout U.S. and Canada with Global Expansion Next.

Mobile Guest Services AppMarriott Hotels, the flagship brand of Marriott International (NYSE:MAR), continues to make travel more brilliant by offering mobile check-in on its wildly popular Marriott Mobile app at 329 properties in the continental U.S. and Canada*. This represents the broadest mobile service of its kind in the North American hospitality industry.

Today’s always-connected Marriott Rewards members, who have downloaded the Marriott Mobile app, can check-in using their smartphones as early as 4 pm the day before their arrival and receive an automatic notification when their room is ready. When they arrive, Marriott Rewards guests simply go to the expedited mobile check-in desk where their key card will be ready and waiting for them.

Marriott Hotels began testing mobile check-in at 31 properties just three months ago. Adoption has been rapid as one-quarter of Marriott Rewards guests with reservations at those hotels used the Marriott Mobile app to check-in.

The app makes it easier than ever to simply tap to join Marriott Rewards, as well as gain immediate access to mobile check-in at Marriott Hotels, room-ready alerts, and other services available only to Marriott Rewards members exclusively on the app. Mobile check-in is part of the free Marriott Mobile app available in the Apple iTunes Store and Google Play. Learn more about mobile check-in and download the app http://www.marriott.com/marriott/mobile-check-in-marriott-hotels-and-resorts.mi

Mobile is Marriott’s fastest growing consumer channel.  Mobile accounts for 10 million visits per month, and the Marriott Mobile app has been downloaded 2.3 million times.  Last year, mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) accounted for over $700 million in revenue. Marriott mobile revenue has grown more than 80 percent during the past year.

What’s Next?
In its drive to co-create the future of travel with its customers, Marriott Hotels solicited feedback from users of the app about what is most important to them. Based on this feedback, Marriott plans to add mobile checkout in November, including the option to have folios emailed.

In a nod to its increasingly mobile and global guests, Marriott Hotels will begin testing mobile check-in in 15 other countries, including the United Kingdom, China, United Arab Emirates, Mexico and India beginning in late November.

The brand’s innovation loop never ends as Marriott Hotels has launched four mobile “incubator” hotels to test future mobile enhancements. Guests at those hotels can make service requests using their smartphones. Among the most popular guest requests so far: additional towels, wake-up calls and housekeeping.

“We recognize our guests – especially Millennials – do not separate work and play, and travel enhances them both,” said Paul Cahill, senior vice president of brand management for Marriott Hotels. “They are more mobile and global than ever before, and technology – especially their mobile devices – keeps them connected to their world. We will continue to engage our guests to join with us on our journey to transform Marriott for next generation travelers.”

Marriott recently launched a new website – www.travelbrilliantly.com – revealing innovations under development, as well as a co-creation platform to solicit future-forward ideas from influencers, experts and traveling consumer enthusiasts. Visitors to the website are invited to share their groundbreaking ideas to improve the modern travel experience across design, culinary, wellness and technology.

Mobile check-in is just one of many innovations Marriott has launched in its transformational journey. By the end of next year, the brand expects to have its industry-leading Greatroom lobby concept fully deployed, offering a seamless experience merging modern, stylish design and comfort, with greater access to food and beverage, and technology whether for groups or individuals at work or play. In The Underground – the company’s subterranean innovation lab – Marriott Hotels is working on the next generation guest room based on extensive research and collaboration with next generation travelers. Because the way people work is changing, Marriott Hotels is also re-imagining meetings. Workspace on Demand makes booking a lobby workspace or meeting room as easy as booking a guest room using a digital device. The first of its kind app – Red Coat Direct – enables meeting organizers to adjust and edit their meeting requests and preferences with a touch of a button and without ever leaving the meeting room.  Workspring at Marriott at the Redmond Marriott Town Center is the industry’s first purpose-built suite of integrated spaces and common areas designed for small meetings, taking a holistic approach it brings together seamlessly integrated service, technology and contemporary design.

*The mobile check-in is available throughout Canada except in the Provence of Quebec.

Marriott Hotels Boldly Envisions the Future of Travel

Launches “Travel Brilliantly” Campaign, Engaging Next Generation Guests

Reflecting the transformative change happening at its properties, the iconic Marriott Hotels, the signature brand of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR), today launched a new multi-year global marketing campaign. Called “Travel Brilliantly,” it is a bold move amplifying the brand’s dedication to leading the future of travel. The dynamic campaign reflects the lifestyle of the next generation of travelers, who seamlessly blend work and play in a mobile and global world. The campaign includes TV, digital and mobile advertising, a new brand look and logo, and enhanced social media platforms. In addition, Marriott is launching a new website – www.travelbrilliantly.com –revealing innovations under development, as well as a co-creation platform to solicit user-generated ideas.

At its core, the campaign disrupts the traditional industry idea that a hotel is bound by its four walls. Rather, the campaign shifts the focus, celebrating how the global travel experience opens minds and is inspirational. As the advertising proclaims, “This is not a hotel.  It’s an idea that travel should be brilliant… It’s not only about where you’re staying. It’s about where you’re going.” From culinary to design to technology, the new campaign draws on the personal passion points and values of the next generation guest, to create a visual that is emblematic of the new Marriott experience.

“The iconic Marriott Hotels brand is transforming itself and reasserting its position as an innovation leader,” said Mara Hannula, vice president of global marketing, Marriott Hotels. “Therefore, the campaign had to be bold in not only staking our claim, but also engaging the next generation of travelers to join us in co-creating the future of travel.“

MHR_LOGO_RGBTo signal change, Marriott created a new brand logo, keeping its iconic “M,” while modernizing its overall appeal. Grey NY, one of the world’s leading advertising and communications agencies developed the integrated campaign and the new brand voice.

“The ‘Travel Brilliantly’ campaign re-establishes Marriott’s role as a pioneer in the travel industry,” says Jan Egan, Executive Creative Director, Grey New York. “Beyond creating new industry advancements, Marriott is shifting the process of how these innovations are ideated.  By fostering dialogue with guests and engaging the modern traveler to co-create the travel experience through TravelBrilliantly.com, Marriott will define the future of travel.”

The new website, www.travelbrilliantly.com will be a platform for portraying Marriott’s past and future innovations and soliciting similar, future-forward ideas from influencers, experts and traveling consumer enthusiasts. Visitors to the website are invited to share their groundbreaking ideas to improve the modern travel experience across design, culinary, wellness and technology. Ideas submitted through the end of September will be entered into a Co-Creation contest, where three judges, Shira Lazar, host of “What’s Trending,” Marc Kushner, Co-Founder of Architizer and Matthew Von Ertfelda, Vice President of Innovation at Marriott will identify top ideas that could truly change the future of travel. Fifteen first prize winners will be chosen and the judges will choose the creator of the best overall idea, who will have the opportunity to travel with and design future innovations alongside Marriott experts, impacting travel for the next generation.

Marriott Hotels Key CardsMarriott’s new campaign will run online in prominent news and lifestyle outlets, such as Fast Company, Mashable and Wired, and in key mobile placements beginning in June. Television spots featuring ads from the campaign will begin in September. On property elements representing 30 touch points, including key cards, flags, “do not – disturb” hangers, in-room directories will embrace the brand’s new visual look. These will feature a series of topographical maps and travel-inspired patterns, inviting travelers begin their journeys with and then beyond the hotel.

As a part of Marriott Hotel’s transformation, the iconic brand has been innovating throughout its hotels globally.  Re-designed lobbies and public spaces known as Greatrooms are being rapidly deployed for the next generation of travelers who blend work and play, demand style and substance, and require technology. As the industry leader in hosting meetings, Marriott is introducing new concepts designed for the new mobile worker including Workspring at Marriott, Red Coat Direct and Workspace on Demand.
