  • St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel is partnering with Sofar Sounds to showcase the finest, freshest, and most cutting edge talent currently making waves on the British music scene. Taking place in the hotel’s exclusive Royal Suite, the evening will feature music from the remarkable Andreya Triana as well as an exciting and interactive drinks offering.
  • Renaissance São Paulo Hotel will offer an adventurous epicurean experience in partnership with Fechado Para Jantar and GQ Magazine, combining food, art, and a surprising discovery in unusual and hidden places.
  • Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel will host a Night Market Pop-Up with a party featuring street food stalls and market-to-table pop-up kitchens. Mobile bars serving craft beers and signature cocktails will serve up liquid nourishment courtesy of celebrity Mixologist, Pernod Ricard. Bangkok’s hottest band Two Popetron will perform, along with other musicians and DJs.

Headlining the Chicago event will be live, outdoor performances lining the Chicago River by Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Robin Thicke, R & B newcomer Natalie La Rose, and HXLT.

Renaissance Block PartySituated on the banks of the Chicago River, the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel partnered with The Gettys Group to capture a spirit of wanderlust that inspires guests to explore the neighborhood and discover the unexpected. Indigenous touch points are infused into the design of the new Lobby, Marriott Rewards® Elite Club Lounge, The Artist Studio, Staytion Market and Bar, and The Library to capture the high energy, whimsical character and ebullience of Chicago. A high-low design approach pairs luxurious high-end finishes with raw, gritty, concrete and graffiti-inspired surfaces. ROBIN THICKE
Born in Los Angeles, Robin Thicke taught himself to play piano at the age of 12 and by 16 was writing and producing songs for top R&B artists. At the age of 21, he had written and produced songs on over 20 gold and platinum albums including Michael Jackson, Marc Anthony, Pink, Christina Aguilera and others. One year later he signed with Jimmy Iovine and Interscope records. Today, Robin has established himself as one of the most respected singer-songwriters in soul and R&B music. The musician and composer released his critically acclaimed debut album, "A Beautiful World," in 2003 under the name “Thicke.” The collection was followed by a succession of four critically acclaimed gold and platinum selling albums releases. The summer of 2013 marked the debut of Robin's highly anticipated new studio album, "Blurred Lines." The release quickly took the music world by storm and debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 while, “Blurred Lines,” the single, set records around the world. It went to #1 in over 100 countries and had a record setting 12-week reign in the US at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and also broke radio records by climbing to #1 on 5 charts simultaneously (Top 40, Rhythm, Urban, Hot AC & Urban AC) – the first time this has ever been done by an artist. Robin continues to receive accolades for the album and single including three GRAMMY Award nominations, as well as four NAACP Image awards nominations.

NATALIE LA ROSE
Being bold is a big part of being an artist. You’ve got to be willing to act intrepidly at the right moments. Natalie La Rose knows just when to be bold. In 2011 while attending an ESPY Awards after party, she walked up to Flo Rida and told him they were going to work together. Struck by her charisma and confidence, the (intrigued) multi-platinum international superstar invited her to the studio the next day. Over the course of two years to follow, she performed alongside Flo across the globe at sold out shows. 2013 saw her officially ink a deal with his International Music Group (I.M.G.) label, formally solidifying their partnership.

However, that wasn’t the first time Natalie followed such an impulse. Born to Surinamese parents and raised in Amsterdam, she moved to Los Angeles alone at 20-years-old, pursuing her dream of becoming a singer and dancer. Inspired by everyone from Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson to Mariah Carey, she honed her vocal chops through years of diligent practice. That prowess led to a deal with Blackground Records/Interscope Records for her duo Amsterdam in 2010.

“The group didn’t work out, and no music was released,” she sighs. “It just wasn’t the right time. However, with Flo, everything felt right. We have such a great chemistry, and he’s given me an incredible launch pad for me and my songs.”

That music flaunts her immense voice with flourishes of both eighties and nineties R&B. It’s an instantly irresistible style. “I’m very inspired by pop and rhythm,” she goes on. “There’s a soulfulness and great groove though. Since I’m a dancer, it’s important for my music to have a nice beat.”

Her debut single for I.M.G./Republic Records “Somebody” [featuring Jeremih] will undoubtedly get the dance floor moving. Over smooth production from Future Classic, the song updates the melody from Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” for a new millennium. Natalie’s voice takes the spotlight in between a sexy hook from Jeremih.

“It’s a fun and funky song,” remarks Natalie. “It’s feel-good, and it reminds me of summertime. I love to be around people, have a great time, and dance. That’s what it stands for. While we were recording Jeremih happened to be in Miami for a Big Dreams for Kids Back to School Event and Flo invited him to the studio to sing on it. He nailed it on the first take!”

HXLT
Born in Chicago to a multi-ethnic musical family, HXLT was raised listening to Led Zeppelin, Smokey Robinson, 2Pac, The Clash, and countless other artists from various genres. He developed a love for art, culture and fashion at a young age, which paved the way for his future ventures in music and design.

HXLT started out rapping with his friends. He had a quick blow up early in his rap career, but was not yet fulfilled. He had interests in other types of music but found himself without the ability to make them. “I used to have tons of songs in my head, but since I couldn’t play anything well and I didn't know how to use programs I was never able to make them.” HXLT brought producer Le Fonz into the mix, and was finally able to compose the music he had in his head. HXLT ran into Kanye West at a venue in New York and was invited to a studio session. He shared his music with Kanye and the rest is history, HXLT signed to West’s G.O.O.D. record label in April of 2014.

HXLT is one of the few serious renaissance men in music. He’s a fighter, a formidable rapper, a director and a great entertainer. HXLT’s sound is a mix of melodic minimal chords, strings and guitars paired with hard and gritty beats. Heavily influenced by punk rock, gangster rap and everything in between, HXLT’s music is a collection of different tastes neatly blended to express his mixed background and innovative spirit.

AC Hotel Miami Beach has partnered with local spirits guru Jennifer Massolo, Founder of The Liquid Projects.  Massolo will lend her lauded expertise to design the innovative beverage, food and lifestyle program for the European-based hotel brand, set to open in Spring 2015 at 29th Street and Collins Avenue.

Based on her over 20 years in the industry, Massolo will develop a creative beverage and food concept that will reflect the local offerings of Miami while embracing AC Hotels’ Spanish roots.  Conveyed through the AC Lounge, the heart of the hotel’s experience, guests and locals will gather in a vibrant, yet laid-back environment to drink and dine, day or night.

According to Massolo, “The beverage and food program will have a local focus with many of the vendors sourced from regional artisans, such as Miami Smokers and Florida-based brewers. While the craft cocktail program will embrace an array of the finest local and international craft spirits, utilizing the freshest ingredients and garnishes, the bar will also integrate the highly efficient and modernized process of batching.” The movement towards batched cocktails, a method that mirrors AC Hotel’s “no-nonsense” approach without compromising quality and innovation, ensures precision in composition.

The beverage program will feature several nods to Spanish culture while incorporating current national trends.  A vast wines-by-the-glass program will allow for ample pairing opportunities with the brand’s signature Spanish-style tapas menu and will include interesting additions, such as Sherry and Vermouth, and two sizes of pours. Massolo will also look to offer an abundance of world whiskies and a gin and tonic menu.

Like the hotel itself, the relaxed, yet sophisticated atmosphere of the AC Lounge will be a go-to destination for guests and locals seeking a welcoming environment to meet over craft drinks and flavorful bites. At the helm of the lounge, the AC Culturalist, will serve as head bartender providing guests with perfectly poured cocktails and local insights. The hotel also plans to work with Massolo on developing the program for the rooftop pool deck and for the unique, third floor outdoor lounge that will include ping pong, billiards, bocce ball and movie screenings under the stars.

The seven story, 150-room property is developed in partnership with Miami’s Robert Finvarb Companies. The design-led hotel, inspired by the fashion houses of Milan, will blend European style and simple lines to create a comfortable atmosphere for guests. Miami-based Kobi Karp Architecture will bring the vision to life, providing an energetic vibe in the hotel while still encouraging exploration of the city beyond four walls. The AC Lounge, Kitchen and Library offer communal, multi-functional spaces for work and play. Additional amenities include a fitness center and 270 square feet of meeting space. On-site parking, complimentary Wi-Fi, a vibrant rooftop pool and beach access will round out the hotels offerings.

Renaissance Hotels and Indiewalls Give Guests a New Way to Experience "The Art of Discovery"

Bethesda, Md., USA – March 5, 2015 – In keeping with Renaissance Hotels’ belief that every traveler should always Live Life to Discover, the lifestyle brand announced today a new chapter in its “The Art of Discovery,” an artistic collaboration started last year with The Creative Coalition.

This year’s art project has been curated by Indiewalls, the company founded by Gavriel Wolf in order to create custom art programs that connect local artists with commercial properties (boutique hotels, restaurants, corporate offices), thus bringing vibrant artwork to those public spaces.

Eight international artists were hand selected by Indiewalls and commissioned to create a piece for key Renaissance Hotels that embodies “The Art of Discovery” through the lens of exploration, adventure and the innate creativity of the human spirit. Each artist’s work was then transferred to vinyl, and installed on a windowpane at the entryway of each of the 159 Renaissance Hotels around the world.

“Every individual Renaissance Hotel has selected the artist’s work that best personifies its unique character, personality and history,” as Toni Stoeckl, Vice President of Marriott International Lifestyle Brands, explains, “We want our guests to see something new and interesting when they walk into our hotels, which hopefully excites them and sparks conversation.”

The artists selected for the project include Suyeon Na from Korea; Geoff Kim of the Netherlands; Danielle Siegenbaum, Stephanie Ng and Joseph Meloy from the United States; Alberto Seveso from the United Kingdom; Jenya Vyguzov of Russia; and Vicky Chan from Hong Kong.

The evening will include an avant-garde fashion presentation by Jan Strimple accompanied by tunes from Celebrity DJ Brandon Olds among other surprises. Concepting Celebrity Chef Dean James Max along with his culinary team including Renaissance Dallas Executive Chef Frank Quant and Asador's Executive Chef Brad Phillips will feature action stations showcasing the hotel's farm-to-fire cuisine.

Located at 2222 N. Stemmons Freeway, the Renaissance Dallas' new 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space includes a 16,000 square-foot technologically advanced Grand Ballroom accommodating up to 1,500 guests. The Grand Ballroom space bodes modern décor, 24-foot vaulted ceilings, skylight crystal chandeliers, a state-of-the art lighting and sound system with remote controlled screens, and window shades allowing natural light during the day. The event space also features linen-less rectangular tables seating 8-10, easily accessible direct load in capabilities and a separate valet entrance for event guests.

The most unique space within the hotels' addition is the 10,000 square foot City View Terrace offering expansive views of the Downtown Dallas skyline. Interior space include 6,000 square feet of event space with floor to ceiling windows and 4,000 square feet of outdoor terrace with a retractable canopy, ambient lighting and city views.

The new addition to the hotel is certified LEED Standard Silver, a cornerstone to the Renaissance Dallas' commitment to sustainability and care for the environment.

In addition to the new venue and event space, the event-catering food and beverage program is just as exceptional. Concepting Chef Dean Max and Executive Chef Brad Phillips provide the hotel with a variety of seasonal options for events, keeping the quality of food his highest priority. The catering program mirrors that of the hotel's recognized award-winning restaurant, Asador. Taking inspiration from the changing seasons, the food and craft cocktail options for events change four times per year and include fresh, organic and locally-sourced products. A family-style service, giving events a more casual-modern feel yet with the same quality service, is also an option for events of any size.
