Local Festival Discoveries

Also this year, expect to discover Renaissance Hotels at a number of high profile music and entertainment festivals including upcoming SXSW Music Film Interactive in Austin, Texas and DC Jazz Music Festival in Washington, D.C. among others.

In Austin, Renaissance hotels is partnering with Universal Music Group at SXSW Music Film Interactive to host their emerging artists showcase. On March 13th and 14th, festival goers and hotel guests can discover the best emerging talent attending this year’s event at the Palm Door on Sixth, while at the same time experiencing a vibe that only a city like Austin can offer. Up to ten artists are scheduled to perform each day during the showcase, including The 1975, Little Dragon, American Authors, The Kooks and Aloe Blacc.

In June, the Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel, The Mayflower Renaissance Hotel and the Renaissance Washington D.C. Downtown Hotel will act as the official hotel sponsor of the 2014 DC Jazz Festival. LONDON – This September, visitors to London’s Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 will be instantly transported around the world before they event depart for their journey thanks to a large scale photography exhibition entitled, Room With A View, sponsored by Renaissance Hotels (www.renhotels.com).

The unique exhibition, created in partnership with Renaissance Hotels and acclaimed photographer Henry Reichhold, offers travellers a selection of breath-taking photographs taken from the intimate viewpoint of a hotel guest room in well-known global destinations including New York and Sao Paulo.

Reichhold shot panoramic scenes from select hotels including the Renaissance Sao Paulo Hotel in Brazil, the Renaissance Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel in Turkey and Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel in the United States.  Captured in ultra-high resolution, the imagery depicts unparalleled views in phenomenal clarity.  To capture the full depth and character of the views, the high-resolution pictures were created by blending a number of images together in a unique way.

The exclusive exhibition will run from early September to late November and celebrates the breadth of extraordinary guest room views offered by Renaissance Hotels around the world.  From the rolling hills of Tuscany, to the sprawling cityscape of Shanghai, the large scale images showcase iconic views in sensational detail.  Each hotel was hand selected to highlight locations within the Renaissance Hotels portfolio, a lifestyle hotel brand known for encouraging travellers to Live Life to DiscoverSM.
