Carlton Ervin

Global Development Officer, International

Carlton Ervin is Global Development Officer, International of Marriott International, Inc. In this role, he oversees development efforts for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region, as well as the Caribbean & Latin America (CALA), Greater China and Asia Pacific Excluding China (APEC) regions.

Most recently, Mr. Ervin held the position of Chief Development Officer, EMEA from 2020-2021 and, before the merger of the regions, led Marriott’s development efforts for all brands in Europe from 2009-2019.

From 2002 to 2008, he held the positions of Vice President and then Senior Vice President of Caribbean & Latin American Development for Marriott.

Before joining Marriott’s Lodging Development Department in 2000, Mr. Ervin worked as a development attorney for Marriott's Legal Department, focusing on transactions in the Caribbean & Latin America. Prior to that, Mr. Ervin was an associate in the corporate banking division of Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett in New York City from 1996- 2000.

Mr. Ervin holds a Juris Doctor degree (cum laude) from Harvard Law School and a dual undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science (magna cum laude) from Duke University.
