Carlton Ervin

Global Development Officer, International

Carlton has been appointed Global Development Officer, International as of March 11, 2021. In his new role, he will continue oversight of EMEA, while also taking responsibility for CALA and Asia Pacific.

Most recently Carlton held the position of Chief Development Officer, EMEA from 2020- 2021 and before the merger of the regions led Marriott’s development efforts for all brands in Europe from 2009-2019.

From 2002 to 2008, he held the positions of VP and then SVP of Caribbean & Latin American Development for Marriott.

Before joining Marriott’s Lodging Development Department in 2000, Carlton worked as a development attorney for Marriott's Legal Department, focusing on transactions in the Caribbean & Latin America. Before joining Marriott, Carlton was an associate in the corporate banking division of Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett in New York City from 1996- 2000.

Carlton holds a JD (cum laude) from Harvard Law School and a dual degree (BA) in Economics and Political Science (magna cum laude) from Duke University.
