Jim Scholefield has a 32-year history of technology leadership across multiple industries at some of the most iconic brands in the world.

In February 2020, Jim joined Marriott International as the new Chief Information + Digital Officer, responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s information technology and digital strategies. He will play a pivotal role in driving the technology modernization efforts for the company, as we embark on a journey to support our future growth, within our core lodging business and new ventures.

Prior to joining Marriott, Jim was Chief Information and Digital Officer at Merck & Co., one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. He led a large global team focused on implementing new technologies and digital capabilities that advanced Merck’s infrastructure, enabled speed-to-market, and enhanced a focus on the consumer experience. Prior to Merck, Jim was Chief Information Officer at Nike, where he led the enterprise technology transformation and a new enterprise IT architecture that enabled an upgrade of critical infrastructure and delivery of state-of-the-art cybersecurity. He also spent 5 years as the Chief Technology Officer at The Coca-Cola Company, leading the company’s transformation to cloud technology, and held leadership roles at The Northern Trust Company and Ford Motor Company.

Jim began his career at Procter & Gamble after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Management from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Management/MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
