The Ritz-Carlton and AC Hotels by Marriott® Win Top Honors in J.D. Power 2021 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study

Leading Brands Earn First Place Rankings in Luxury and Upscale Segments Respectively

Marriott International proudly announces that The Ritz-Carlton was once again named the top luxury brand and AC Hotels by Marriott was named the top upscale brand for guest satisfaction in the J.D. Power 2021 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study. The two brands each earned #1 rankings in their respective categories, moving up in overall points and rankings since 2020.

In the luxury segment, The Ritz-Carlton has remarkably achieved first place for six out of the last seven years, earning a total of 890 points in 2021. Within the same category, JW Marriott was awarded the second-highest ranking with a total of 887 points.

For the upscale segment, AC Hotels – a lifestyle brand introduced to the U.S. in 2015 from Spain, achieved the #1 ranking with a total of 871 points, noted for its leading guest satisfaction and top scores in guest rooms and hotel facilities.

The North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index (NAGSI) Study, now in its 25th year, analyzes guest responses to more than 150 questions regarding hotel stay experiences and benchmarks the performance of 104 brands across six market segments. This year’s study is based on responses from 32,963 hotel guests for stays between May 2020 and May 2021. J.D.
